Woodland Whittling

Would you like to learn a new skill? Create something from nature? Do you want to impress people on hikes? Try whittling!

This half-day session is designed for people who have never picked up a knife before.
We will teach you from scratch, how to hold a knife, knife safety and different whittling cuts.

We will cover good types of wood for whittling and where to collect it safely and ecologically.

By the end of the day you will have completed a number of small projects and gained bags of confidence to go forth and whittle away!

Fire-making

Have you lost touch with your inner caveperson? Do you want to learn a life-saving skill? Do you like fire? Come along to our fire-making skills session.

In this session you will learn the important elements to fire-building, fire-lighting and how to use a variety of different materials.

Without a lighter in sight, you will create your own small fires, progressing towards creating a campfire on which we can cook some snacks and even make a brew!

You'll leave with a smile on your face, fire in your heart and a healthy respect for people who had to do this daily!

Nature ID

Trees are all around us, but how much do you really know about them? Come along to nature ID to learn more about the world around you.

In this session you will learn how to ID common British trees, shrubs and plants along with birds, animals and insects.

Our experienced passionate leaders will take you on a walk round the beautiful country park and introduce you to nature.

You will learn names of trees, plants and animals, how to ID them and lots of interesting titbits to impress your friends with.

You'll leave with a new appreciation for the natural world and a new skill to show off!

Do you want the skills to make it to the past the first scenes of a post-apocalyptic film?

In this session you will learn different survival skills in beautiful woodland surroundings.

Our experienced passionate leaders will teach you how to build natural shelters, create cordage and start a fire.

You'll leave with a new appreciation for survival and a skill set that could save your life!

Join us in the woodlands, sit, relax, chat and get crafting.

Join us, find the resources that the forest has to offer and turn them into beautiful keepsakes.

With our experienced instructors you will learn how to create some beautiful items, using natural resources.

Perhaps you will discover a new hobby, or just have a lovely time in the woods with likeminded people.
